The Savage Five

My husband brought a summer traveler into my room the other night.  She is in the final stages of her life and has been impregnated in order to pass on her life to another future generation. As she is perched atop my study bible, I can't help but hear; "Pray the Word!"   If I could pass on something to future generations that the Spirit of God has impregnated me with, it would be to pray the Word of God back to Him! Regular reading of God's word should always be an integral part of every follower of Jesus' day.  From it we draw strength, are fed wisdom and refreshed and renewed by the washing of the water of His word . Although reading is of primary importance, applying the Word is the main point that God wants us to get as we read. James 1:22-25 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only,  deceiving yourselves.  For if anyone is a hearer of the word  and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror...

Nehemiah 2 Prayer Eternal King of Heaven!   We thank you that Jesus has gone before us as a cupbearer,   drinking the cup of Your great wrath so that what was intended to be poured out on all of mankind was absorbed by His perfect love toward us!   The truth of this great love will allow us to be forever smiling in the direct light of your countenance for which we are so grateful that we have found favor in Your sight because of Jesus! Prayer from Ezra 1 O Lord God of heaven, God of Israel, King of all kings, sovereign Lord.   You are seated in heaven, enthroned on high.   We proclaim that You are a faithful and steadfast God! We ask that You stir our hearts as we proclaim and read about You in Your written word. Allow us to go up to new heights into Jerusalem of your presence.   We thank you for your timing, assistance, and intentional staging in the rebuilding of our lives as a dwelling place for You.
