Awake Awake O North Wind
The other day I was laying outside watching the clouds pass by as the wind was driving them northward.
As they moved through the sky, at times, the sun would be covered and then it would be slowly revealed and its intensity would creep out of the boundary of the cloud.
It reminded me of how the Lord will, at times, hide His face so that we will seek Him. He promises in His word that if we seek Him with our whole hearts, we will find Him.
This morning as I was searching the scriptures about the Lord, I sat and prayed that God would reveal Himself to me in a new way. I read in Ezra 1, how the Lord stirred the spirit of the King of Persia, Cyrus,to allow his people to rebuild the temple of God.
The word stirred stood out to me so I looked at other references that used the same Hebrew word עוּר
`uwr, which means to rouse oneself, awaken, to be excited, and it connotes the idea of opening the eyes.
I read through the other scriptures that had the same Strong's reference for this word and Song of Songs 4:16 stood out to me.
Awake, H5782 O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.
Suddenly, as I was meditating on that word, the wind began to blow and all the leaves in my garden began to rustle.
As if that wasn't enough "excitement" for me, Misty Edwards began to sing the words....
"Let the winds blow on my garden"
This isn't the first time that the Lord has spoken to me so clearly in nature using His word!
I stand amazed at His constant presence in my life and the activity of His Spirit that shows me He is watching and sitting with me in my garden.
I know for certain that the Lord wants to walk and talk with me in the garden of my heart. His manifest presence affirms that He is always watching and waiting for me to seek Him with my whole heart.
I want to produce fruit in my life that brings pleasure to my King!
I pray, that as the seasons of my life ebb and flow, whether He is evident by His manifest presence or hidden by the clouds of life, that I would continue to trust His driving force in my life. That I would long to walk and talk with Him in my garden, always allowing Him to blow upon my heart to see what spills out.
Father, I ask that eyes of my heart would be enlightened, open the eyes of my understanding, arouse my love for YOU King Jesus, that I may seek you like hidden treasure and find You! That I may be a fragrant garden for you to enjoy!
