Day 20......count down to 10 ...... Psalm 20

1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. 2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. 3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. Selah 4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. 5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests. 6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. 9 O LORD, save the king! Answer us when we call!

Day 19! Psalm 56

1 Be merciful to me, O God, for men hotly pursue me; all day long they press their attack. 2 My slanderers pursue me all day long; many are attacking me in their pride. 3 When I am afraid, I will trust in you. 4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me? 5 All day long they twist my words; they are always plotting to harm me. 6 They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, eager to take my life. 7 On no account let them escape; in your anger, O God, bring down the nations. 8 Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll — are they not in your record? 9 Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me. 10 In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise- 11 in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? 12 I am under vows to you, O God;

Day 18~ Getting close to the 30 day mark!

Psalm 9 For the director of music. To the tune of "The Death of the Son." A psalm of David. 1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. 2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. 3 My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you. 4 For you have upheld my right and my cause; you have sat on your throne, judging righteously. 5 You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name for ever and ever. 6 Endless ruin has overtaken the enemy, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished. 7 The LORD reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment. 8 He will judge the world in righteousness; he will govern the peoples with justice. 9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. 10 Those who know your name will trust

Day 17! Psalm 8

1 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. 2 From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. 3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? 5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: 7 all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, 8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Conplacency

com⋅pla⋅cen⋅cy   a feeling of quiet pleasure or security, often while unaware of some potential danger, defect, or the like; self-satisfaction or smug satisfaction with an existing situation, condition I just got back from a spinning class in which two moms were discussing the community in which they live. The community is a stone's throw from where I live and known by outsiders to be a posh, snobbish community. I personally have experienced this when I was a nanny in this community. I have friends that live there and so I do go to some of there community parks. This week while I was at one of the parks I overheard a conversation by this resident that sounded generally irritated that outsiders came to their park. She asked the attendent a variety of questions and I realized she fit the description above. I at times feel like I don't want to encounter certain individuals and as we discussed some of the scary situations that have a occurred at a local store, I began to share

Day 16 Psalm 10

1 Why, O LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? 2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. 3 He boasts of the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD. 4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. 5 His ways are always prosperous; he is haughty and your laws are far from him; he sneers at all his enemies. 6 He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me; I'll always be happy and never have trouble." 7 His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue. 8 He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent, watching in secret for his victims. 9 He lies in wait like a lion in cover; he lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in

Day 15! 15 days to my new habit! Psalm 81

1 Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob! 2 Begin the music, strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre. 3 Sound the ram's horn at the New Moon, and when the moon is full, on the day of our Feast; 4 this is a decree for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob. 5 He established it as a statute for Joseph when he went out against Egypt, where we heard a language we did not understand. 6 He says, "I removed the burden from their shoulders; their hands were set free from the basket. 7 In your distress you called and I rescued you, I answered you out of a thundercloud; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah 8 "Hear, O my people, and I will warn you— if you would but listen to me, O Israel! 9 You shall have no foreign god among you; you shall not bow down to an alien god. 10 I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt.

Day 14! Psalm 89

1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations. 2 For I have said, “Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness You shall establish in the very heavens.” Caleb's choice and of course it is about singing!

Day 13! Psalm 104........

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty, 2 Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain. 3 He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind, 4 Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire. 5 You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever, 6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters stood above the mountains. 7 At Your rebuke they fled; At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away. 8 They went up over the mountains; They went down into the valleys, To the place which You founded for them. 9 You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, That they may not return to cover the earth. 10 He sends the

Day 12~ Psalm 103!

Listen to songs 41-44 Just a sampling not the ONE song I wanted to find but oh well......... You get the idea! Right? This psalm is a song that I sang when I was a little girl at the Church of the Open Door. I LOVE IT! Lately all that is within me seems to never be enough......He is Holy and let us never forget His many benefits. I don't know what I would do with out forgiveness! Healing and redemption! Hallelujah! I have been redeemed out of the hand of the devil. He was destroying all that God had set aside for me to be and the enemy was robing me BUT my God has redeemed back His child. I am no longer insecure, depressed, I no longer view myself as unattractive and stupid! God has done a mighty work. He truly executed righteousness and justice for me! I was oppressed and am now free to be who God called me to be and can I say I am amazed! Not in what I am but in what He has done! I am a living testimony! Thank you Jesus! This section reminds me of what I want to be to

Day 11! Psalm 28 revisted.

1 To You I will cry, O LORD my Rock: Do not be silent to me, Lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. 2 Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary. 3 Do not take me away with the wicked And with the workers of iniquity, Who speak peace to their neighbors, But evil is in their hearts. 4 Give them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve. 5 Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them And not build them up. 6 Blessed be the LORD, Because He has heard the voice of my supplications! 7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him,

Day 10! One Third of the way there! Psalm 81

1 Sing aloud to God our strength; Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob. 2 Raise a song and strike the timbrel, The pleasant harp with the lute. 3 Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our solemn feast day. 4 For this is a statute for Israel, A law of the God of Jacob. 5 This He established in Joseph as a testimony, When He went throughout the land of Egypt, Where I heard a language I did not understand. 6 “I removed his shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the baskets. 7 You called in trouble, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah 8 “Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you! O Israel, if you will listen to Me! 9 There shall be no foreign god among you; Nor shall you worship any foreign god. 10 I am the LORD your God,

Day 9! Psalm 80

1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth! 2 Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, Stir up Your strength, And come and save us! 3 Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved! 4 O LORD God of hosts, How long will You be angry Against the prayer of Your people? 5 You have fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in great measure. 6 You have made us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves. 7 Restore us, O God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved! 8 You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it. 9 You prepared room for it, And caused it to take deep root, And it filled the land. 10 The hills were covered with its shadow, And

Day 8 ! Psalm 46

Psalm 46 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song for Alamoth. 1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah 4 There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. 5 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. 6 The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted. 7 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah 8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, Who has made desolations in the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts th

Ephesians 1:15-17

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is

Psalm 28 ~ Day 7!

Psalm 28 1 To You I will cry, O LORD my Rock: Do not be silent to me, Lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. 2 Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary. 3 Do not take me away with the wicked And with the workers of iniquity, Who speak peace to their neighbors, But evil is in their hearts. 4 Give them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve. 5 Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them And not build them up. 6 Blessed be the LORD, Because He has heard the voice of my supplications! 7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;

Psalm 38 ~ Day 6!

Today Caleb chose a specific verse and I am not sure really how to deal with it out of context but I love that he is getting specific and listening intently and digesting as best as his little spirit can, the word of God. I know that as with Shannon, in church and listening to bluegrass songs, that were steeped in the word that it does not matter if his spirit deciphers the content because God promises that his word will not return to Him void. Like a boomerang! It goes out and comes back to him but when it is coming back it has actually accomplished something even if it knocks someone off their feet! Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void , But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. The word is prospering in my sweet Caleb. It was not that long ago that he was causing me a great deal of frustration and now it is joy! Someone said to me tonight just that. "Your ho

Psalm 27~ Day 5!

7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. 8 When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, LORD, I will seek.” 9 Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. I have come to a point where seeking the face of the Lord has become something that I long to do. As I seek His face and search Him out, I find Him everywhere! In the people that I meet, in the needs I have and the prayers that I pray. I am soooo thankful and thrilled that God longs to meet me when I seek Him. He commands us to seek Him and as we are obedient whether it be with a whole hearted action or a half hearted obedience....He is merciful to us in every way My God has never left me or forsaken me. This scripture has been a staple in my walk but God refreshes me in His word and reminds me of His promi

Day 4! ~Psalm 28

I am wondering if there is anyone out in cyber land finding my blog? hmmmmmm If so can you please leave me a comment? The other day he was in t

Psalm 30 ~ Day 2!

1 I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my foes rejoice over me. 2 O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me. 3 O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. a]">[ a ] 4 Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. b]">[ b ] 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. 6 Now in my prosperity I said, “I shall never be moved.” 7 LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled. 8 I cried out to You, O LORD; And to the LORD I made supplication: 9 “What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Psalm 40~ Day 1!

Psalm 40:1-5 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. 2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. 3 He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD. 4 Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. 5 Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered. I was reading this out loud to Elijah yesterday and it hit me like a ton of bricks. This indeed has been my Psalm. I waited patiently for the Lord for the salvation of my husband which just recently happened this past October! The amazing th

A Call to 30 Days of Consistancy..........

From the time that I conceived Elijah I have wanted to homeschool him. In my finite thinking I thought it was my great "idea". I now know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God called me to homeschool. My prayer this year has been...."Lord if you want me to do this then you are going to have to change me into a consistent mother. He has graciously allowed me to see that I indeed can be consistent. He reminded me of the time in my life when I committed to being a runner. I determined to run everyday for 30 days because if I could do it consecutively it would become habit. Guess what?! It worked! If I missed a day I started back at day one. Harsh maybe but very effective. Today God called me to be in His word consistently with my boys. He has been after me to sit down with them at lunch time but I have a hard time with that sitting thing. I am going to commit to reading various Psalms during our lunch time for 30 days straight and my prayer is that I can consi

Psalm 37

Because God has really spoken to me through this chapter for a variety of situations, I am going to dig in and study this scripture. Join me if you would each day! Tomorrow will be Psalm 37:1 1 Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.

Praise the Lord!

God gave me this scripture a few weeks ago. Psalm 37 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand. 25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. I am in awe of my Lord. It was just a few weeks ago that I flipped open a devotional that I had received from a homeschooling mom and God spoke immediately to me through the testimony and the scripture. Psalm 37 has so many promises for me at this time in my life and verse 5 has been a scripture that I have stood on for my husband Shannon for years and he accepted Jesus Christ in October. This chapter in Psalms is jam packed with testimonies for me and with specific things that I am standing on for my life and my family. Friday I was picking up food for a couple of churches that I help with a food

True Love

Have you ever considered that Jesus left all of God's perfect glory for you? Wow! That is Love! Read what He prayed for Himself when He was here on earth: John 17 Jesus Prays for Himself 1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should[a] give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. My prayer is that I glorify the Father while I am on earth so that men and women are drawn to His son, Jesus Christ! One day we will see the glory of the Lord and I know I will never want to be seperated from Him. As I get

Consistancy

This year I have really prayed that God help me to be consistent. Consistent in my work, consistent in my parenting, consistent in my prayer life and consistent in my bible study. He has shown me some specific things about my parenting through the book, Have a new kid by Friday . While reading this God made me aware of the areas where I was inconsistent. I am a discipline oriented parent and expect my kids to obey me the first time. My expectations may have been there but I realized that I did not always follow through with them. Once I implemented the clear plan from this book I saw my children in a matter of a week become, obedient, gracious and loving. My four year old stopped protesting every request because he realized quickly that I was operating in a consistent fashion. He of all my boys is very rules oriented and can see inconsistencies readily. It was he that showed an amazing turn around. I am no longer stressed by how my children are behaving because they are compliant

Early Rising

As I was laying in bed this morning I was telling myself to get up at 5 because I need my quiet time before the boys wake up. Yesterday they slept until 9 so I was expecting the same gift today. Well, unfortunately they were all up before 7 and I did not get my quiet time in. Today was a learning experience for me because when I am faithful to get up and spend time with the Lord, He extends that time and helps the rest of the day to follow that pattern. As I commit to rise at 5 a.m for next years homeschool endeavor, I will use my blog to get me out of bed to post after I have communed with the Lord. Psalm 63 1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. 3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. 4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy n
