A Prayer from Nehemiah 2 Study

Nehemiah 2 Prayer

Eternal King of Heaven!  We thank you that Jesus has gone before us as a cupbearer,  drinking the cup of Your great wrath so that what was intended to be poured out on all of mankind was absorbed by His perfect love toward us!

The truth of this great love will allow us to be forever smiling in the direct light of your countenance for which we are so grateful that we have found favor in Your sight because of Jesus!

We thank you that we can see the redemptive work that You do as You rebuild the temples of our hearts as your resting place.  We see your favor, pleasure and delight over our lives as we rebuild our minds in the truth of Your word, taking back what the canker worm has stolen.

We know that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us but we ask, “How long will He be gone?  When will He return?”

We are mindful that while You are away we are Your ambassadors here on Earth to build Your church.  We ask that You give us trees of righteousness to make the entry gates for the King of glory to come in to our churches!

We thank You that while we are busy our labor is not in vain and that Your good hand is on us.

We want to build up the gates of our hearts for the King of glory to come in!  We lift our hands to You O Lord God Almighty!

We thank You that you sent letters on behalf of the church for our welfare.  We thank You for Your word and that we can hide it in our hearts.

We see that there are broken down gates among us and even in our own lives.  We thank you that You are the repairer of the breech.

Come and repair our ruined lives so we will show forth the glory of our King!

We rely fully on Your strength, might and wealth to aid us and strengthen our hands for the good work of the gospel.

We know full well that we will be despised and rejected by many as You were when You proclaimed the good news of the Kingdom.

God of Heaven we implore You to make us prosper in this great work that You would thrust forth many laborers into the Harvest to lay claim to the New Jerusalem!

In the Mighty name of Jesus we pray AMEN!
