As We Drive Our Heads Into His Word We Find the Sweetness of Who He Is

Bees are very attracted to flowers that reflect blue and yellow but color isn't the only factor that effects who visits that flower. Flower structure has a bearing on which bees can dine from the nectar within the center of each flower.
Bumble bees are aggressive feeders in the garden and their shear weight gives them an advantage to foraging.
They are tenacious in searching out which flower contains the sweet goodness that they need to survive and perpetuate their legacy.
Like the bumble bee, Christians need the nectar of the Word of God to be sustained and perpetuate a legacy of truth. As we tenaciously feed our spirits on the Word of God, meditating on it, we too will grow and thrive.
But how often do we burrow our heads deep into the Word of God searching for the sweet nectar of His truth? So often perhaps, we glaze over passages without revisiting to better understand the truths that are nestled deep within.
My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,
making your ear attentive to wisdom and
inclining your heart to understanding;
yes, if you call out for insight and
raise you voice for understanding,
if you seek it like silver
and search for it as for hidden treasures,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
Proverbs 1-5
Like a bumble bee set on finding the hidden nourishment nestled in a flower, we must be persistent to search out who God is through His word as if we were searching for hidden treasure. We need to find out who He is, not for His benefit but for our survival in this life of faith.
The eyes of our understanding must be opened to the truth of who God is because there are so many voices in our culture and in our own hearts that constantly barrage us with contrary ideas about God.
Like a bumble bee we must have a special ability to see the wavelength of God's love ringing colorfully through His word, stimulating our receptors in order that we can see Him rightly.
Ephesians 1:17-20 gives us a prayer to pray for ourselves and others
the the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of glory,
may give you the Spirit of wisdom and
of revelation in the knowledge of him,
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened,
that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power
toward us who believe,
according to the working of his great might
that he worked in Christ
when he raised him from the dead
and seated him at his right hand
in the heavenly places,
The lies of Satan and this world are quickly encroaching on the truth of who God is. He is a loving provider, protector and friend but often times even Christians feel that He is out to get them or He is not interested in providing them with what they need or want.
This is not a God problem but a human problem. We are unable to know who He really is if we are not nestling our heads deep into His word, seeking to know Him and come away with some delicious truth that we were unable to see because our eyes were not opened to truth before our quest.
Psalm 146:8
The LORD sets the prisoners free;
the LORD opens the eyes of the blind.
The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down;
the LORD loves the righteous.
He is a loving, gracious, and merciful God! His mercies towards us are new EVERY DAY!
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
"The LORD is my portion," says my soul,
"therefore I will hope in him."
The LORD is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
Lamentations 3:22-25
Our view of God is interfered by our view of ourselves. We live in a culture where everyone tells us that we are good. The word of God tells us that none of us are good!
as it is written:
"None is righteous, no, not one;
no one understands, no one seeks for God.
All have turned aside;
together they have become worthless;
no one does good, not even one."
Romans 3:10-12
But when we do not see our own desperate need for a Savior, we cannot possibly see the full spectrum of God's glorious light and love being reflected toward us through His word and when we don't see His merciful gracious love freely given to us, the very people that do not deserve it, then we ourselves are unable to freely give His love to others.
Lord, help us to see the invisible spectrum of your love! Open our eyes to the truth of who You are and how You love and care for us, not because we deserve it but because of Jesus, our righteousness! Open the eyes of our understanding we ask so that we will see You rightly and give us a tenacious desire for the Word of God.
