Morning Moonshine

Immediately, Psalm 8:3 came to my mind.
When I look at your heavens, the work of you fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him and the son of man that you care for him?
My heart soars at the words of the psalmist! God continually reminds me that He is indeed thinking of me and He encourages me today by confirming the happenings of this week by His written word.
God showed me VERY specifically this week how He is actively involved in my life in seemingly insignificant or mundane ways but it is worth sharing because it is so encouraging to know that He is acquainted with all our ways!
A little history will lend to the complete view of the first event of the week:
In May of this year I was winding down from a teaching job that God had provided supernaturally. While at my husband's interview (weird, I know.... a God thing), the couple began to ask me some questions and upon finding out that I had a masters degree in secondary education for science, they told me about this teaching job.
My name was passed on to the director and I was quickly hired and back in the saddle again. The job was perfectly suited for mine and my families needs adding income so that we could help our oldest son who was just starting college, while providing my middle son the opportunity to shine academically for other teachers as we homeschool.
So moving through year 2 in this position, it seemed as though this small private homeschool preparatory school was thriving but come May of 2017 the teachers and families were told that enrollment was not near where it needed to be in order to sustain the school long-term.
As I gathered my things on the last day of classes, I made my way to the restroom where I began to say aloud, "Oh LORD...... and as the words left my lips the beginning of Psalm 8 came out to complete my bemoaning.
... our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
I smiled at the grace He gave me during that moment of sorrow and uncertainty.
Fast forward to Monday of this week and a friend sent me text message with a song of Psalm 8 and while I was in the BATHROOM I clicked on the link and began to hear the words of the psalmist!
I immediately recalled my previous bathroom lament and how God had turned it into a moment of praise! Coincidence? I think not.
There is a God and He is mindful of me
and He knows my thoughts!
The second event happened this week when my youngest son and I were watching a video of a musical ensemble composed of several violinists and a cellist. While we were watching the performance, I thought how great it would be if I could take the boys to a symphonic performance in a large elaborate venue like the one we were watching.
The very next day I received an email from my husband with an "Exclusive" invitation to a Music Hall! We were invited to be the first people to hear the music of an elite director and his symphony orchestra before they head out on a world tour! Admission to this event is free to those who were invited!!

Once again, I stand in awe of how the Lord knows us and desires for us to know that He is indeed aware and mindful of us individually.
I would encourage you today to ask the Lord to make Himself known to you in a new way. Ask Him to encourage you!
In times past, whenever I would talk to the Him and ask Him to do something to encourage me, I was never left hanging and I was always extremely encouraged that He is a God who sees!
El Roi is Hebrew for "The God Who Sees."
Genesis 16 is the only mention of God as the El Roi. I find it interesting that in this instance God has revealed Himself to Hagar, Sarai's servant who was driven out of her home by Sarai after conceiving a child with Abram.
Hagar is in the wilderness and pregnant and God speaks to her;
God knew where she had been and where she was going and He was not willing for her to think that she was alone in her circumstances. He encouraged her to return to her home and tells her that He will multiply her offspring.
After the Lord speaks to Hagar she realizes that He sees her!
The Lord God of Heaven and Earth, the God who placed the Moon and Sun and all the stars in place desires that we know Him and realize that He is mindful of us individually!
O Lord our Lord how majestic is Your name in all the earth! Thank you that you see us and you delight in showing us that you are intimately aware of all of our days and you even know the trivial things about us, like the number of hairs that are on our heads at any given time!
You love us and we are so grateful for Jesus dying for our sins that we might be called the righteousness of God in which You look with favor!

So she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her,
"You are a God of seeing," for she said,
"Truly here I have seen him who looks after me."

Open our eyes to the unseen character of You!
