Our Spiritual Posture Is Determined By Whose Load We Are Carrying.
While finishing my last leg of a 3 mile run, determined to finish strong, I immediately realized that my posture was weighing me down. My posture had a bearing on how I would finish and so I straightened up, pushing my shoulders back and tucking my pelvis inward, I began to feel the sense of relief from the burden of my poor stance.
Upon repositioning myself, I immediately felt my mind line up with my body's posture and my attitude to finish strong was engaged.
Just like a conditioned runner must pay attention to his posture, so a Christian must be aware that the spiritual posture that they assume throughout their day, has a bearing on how they will finish out the day as disciples of Christ.
Our attitudes can be a help or a hinderance to us walking out our days in obedience to Christ and His word.
When we position our attitudes to stand erect and not let the day's trials weigh our shoulders down, bearing a burden we were never meant to carry alone, we fall prey to the onslaught of the enemy as we become a walking target.
Have you ever seen someone walking confidently down the street? If you have it probably didn't stand out to you in the same way that someone who has the weight of the world on their shoulders.
When we feel the weight of our lives and it's various responsibilities and schedules, we have a tendency to feel overwhelmed and unable to get through the entourage of events that will fill our day but God is with us through it all if we allow Him Lordship over our internal posture.
When we cling to our worries and don't give all of them to God, we are weighed down and this is evident to our enemy who is waiting for a spiritual weakening so he can use that opportunity to pounce and devour his prey.
When we give ALL of our worries to God, He is then able to be our core strength so that we can run the race with the the best posture and most unhindered movement as possible. We no longer limp about as a target for the enemy but we run onward, no longer being weighed down by the cares of life.
When we allow the gravity of life to bear down on us, our posture is affected and we are forget that God is in charge of gravity and He can lift our loads enabling us to stand tall and finish strong.
When our attitude is one of defeat or despair, looking ahead at what seems to be impossible, we are drawn down into despondancy, and we become overtaken by hopelessness and our courage and strength quickly follow suit.
Job is the perfect example of the depths of despair that the human heart can sink to.
Is it really that easy? Is it really just a matter of posturing our hearts toward Jesus and He will swap burdens with us?
It is His desire that we have rest for our souls. He is our rest and as we lean into Him, He is able to roll our burdens over to His shoulders and leave us with His light and easy load.
We don't have to muster our own core strength, pulling ourselves up by our proverbial bootstraps to look as though we are committed to running the race with strength and diligence but He will provide a way to carry us through to the finish line if we only come to Him!
I am filled with great hope and resolve as I know that my efforts are futile at best but Christ finished His life at a full sprint, running to His death so that we might live and live abundantly!
Father, thank you for providing a way out of our burdens through Christ's great sacrifice. Thank you that it is Your desire that we find rest for our weary souls to finish the race strong, with our hearts postured with Christ, seated in heavenly places, so that we can be confident in this one thing, that he who began a good work in me will see it through to completion.
It is this confidence that gives us hope and resolve as we turn to Him the author and finisher of our faith.

I Peter 5:6-7
Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
When we give ALL of our worries to God, He is then able to be our core strength so that we can run the race with the the best posture and most unhindered movement as possible. We no longer limp about as a target for the enemy but we run onward, no longer being weighed down by the cares of life.

Job is the perfect example of the depths of despair that the human heart can sink to.
"Oh that my vexation were weighed,
and all my calamity laid in the balances!
For then it would be heavier than the sand of the sea;
therefore my words have been rash.
But God delights in showing us mercy and it is His desire to take our burdens.
Jesus himself knows of all the weights that we are trying to bear ourselves and He says;
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."

He is not a man that He would lie! Jesus will do what He said He will do!
