The Destructive Force of Our Sin Was Counteracted by The Force of Grace

So often things that I read in scripture remind me of the natural laws of our physical universe that God has set in motion and sustains by His sovereign will.

Newtons 3rd Law of Motion, which in essence says for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction came to mind today when I was studying.  Like a loaded cannon that recoils when it is shot, so the load of our sin had an equal and opposite response in that Christ died for all sin.

His response to our sin was more than enough to cancel out the force of our great sin!

I Corinthians 15:46 attests to this connectedness between the physical and spiritual arenas.

However the spiritual is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual.

While I was studying Romans 5 today, this very scenario that Paul is referring to came to light.  Nestled nicely in the final third of Romans sits these statements:

Now the law came in to increase the trespass,
but where sin increased,
grace abounded all the more,
so that,
as sin reigned in death
grace also might reign through righteousness
leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Paul uses these evidential oxymorons  to produce a dramatic literary effect that instantly appeals to readers in order that we might ponder the meaning of these contradictory ideas.

In my pondering I can see a kingdom law that is reflective Newton's 3rd law of motion.

As the LAW came in to INCREASE SIN----> <-----> GRACE ABOUNDED all the MORE

SIN REIGNED in DEATH<----> -----> GRACE REIGNS through RIGHTEOUSNESS leading to LIFE

Ultimately the transfer of sin led to a transfer of righteousness!

Christ's justifying reactionary sacrifice paid for all of mankind's past, present and future sin actions.

It dawns on me that I Corinthians 15:45 speaks of this kingdom principle of action and reaction.

So it is written:  The first man Adam became a living being
the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.

We walk in the flesh that leads to death but Christ died so that we could walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the works of the flesh but bring life to those we encounter.

The first man was from the earth and made of dust
the second man is from heaven.

We are now children of righteousness and joint heirs with Christ!  We are citizens of heaven and we have left our life that leads to death and have been ushered into the inheritance of the second Adam where we are justified by grace through the redemptive blood of Christ by faith in Him as our propitiatory sacrifice!

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Our sin for His Righteousness!  What a great deal!!! This is a profound reaction to the action of our sin!

Abba Father! We thank you that we received the Spirit of adoption by which we are brought into Sonship!  Give us a Spirit of wisdom and revelation and the knowledge of Jesus!
