Thoroughly Saved Through Jesus The Door To Safety With God!
~The Saviour~
Thou God of all grace,
Thou has given me a Saviour,
produce in me a faith to live in him,
to make him all my desire,
all my hope,
all my glory.
May I enter him as my refuge,
build on him as my foundation,
walk in him as my way,
follow him as my guide,
conform to him as my example,
receive his instructions as my prophet,
rely on his intercession as my high priest,
obey him as my king.
May I never be ashamed in him or his words,
but joyfully bear his reproach,
never displease him by unholy or imprudent
conduct,
never count it a glory if I take it patiently
when buffeted for a fault,
never make the multitude my model,
never delay when they Word invites me to advance.
May thy dear Son preserve me from this present
evil world,
so that its smiles never allure,
nor its frowns terrify,
nor its vices defile,
nor its errors delude me.
May I feel that I am a stranger and a pilgrim
on earth,
declaring plainly that I see a country,
my title to it becoming daily more clear,
my meekness for it more perfect,
my foretastes of it more abundant;
and whatsoever I do may it be done
in the Saviour's name.
THE SAVIOR, Valley of Vision: A Collection of Puritan Prayers and Devotions
Noah and his household were saved from the catastrophe of the world-wide flood that wiped out the evil of the day. No doubt, as Noah obeyed God in faith he was persecuted and ridiculed as there may not have been rain on the earth before that fateful day that the heavens let loose.
When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
neither wild plants nor grains were growing on the earth.
For the LORD God had not yet sent rain to water the earth,
and there were no people to cultivate the soil.
Instead, springs came up from the ground
and watered all the land.
Genesis 2:4-6 NLT
God saw that Noah, in his obedient faith, was a righteous man.
..for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.
Noah and his family entered into the ark or tebah (תֵּבָה)
He moved with fear and faith and found a resting place for he and his family. As a result of his obedient faith, he was preserved through the danger and brought safely through and was kept from perishing.
I Peter 3:20 says,
because they formerly did not obey,
when God's patience waited in the days of Noah,
while the ark was being prepared,
in which a few, that is,
eight persons, were saved through water.
Diasozo means; to save thoroughly
Noah was saved thoroughly from the wrath of God by being hidden in the ARK which is Christ!
He entered into saving faith through the only door, Jesus!
John 10:9
I am the door.
If anyone enters by me,
he will be saved and
will in and out and find pasture.
Jesus is our vessel of salvation, He is the only way to enter into the rest of the LORD!
Colossians 3:3
For you died to this life
and your real life
is hidden with Christ in God.
God is long-suffering and patient. He gave the people of Noah's day the opportunity to repent and turn to Him in obedience but they refused.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise
as some count slowness,
but is patient toward you,
not wishing that any should perish,
but that all should reach repentance.
Noah on the other hand believed God would do what He said. Like the Philippine Jailer who, out of fear almost took his own life, trembling, fell down before Paul and Silas and said,
"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
And they said,
"Believe in the Lord Jesus,
and you will be saved,
you and your household."
2 Corinthians 5:17-19
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
All this is from God,
who through Christ
reconciled us to himself
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;
that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself,
not counting their trespasses against them,
and entrusting us the message of reconciliation.
He entered into covenant with God by one way, Jesus, the Door!
He entered into the refuge and safety of the Ark just like Noah and had the same result!
His entire family was saved from the present evil world.
Noah realized the truth of Hebrews 11:6 on the day that the rains came and flooded the earth.
Hebrews 11:6-7
And without faith it is impossible to please him,
for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
By faith Noah,
being warned of God concerning events as yet unseen,
in reverent fear
constructed an ark for the saving of his household.
By this he condemned the world and
became and heir of the righteousness
that comes by faith.
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in to him and eat with him,
and he with me.
