Psalm 1

The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

My husband is this man and his sons are like trees planted by the rivers of water that are bringing forth fruit in it's season! I love to watch God transform lives! What a joy ride!

Forgiveness

Yesterday my oldest son Elijah and my middle son Caleb were outside enjoying time together in the snow.  They were building a snow fort.  Suddenly they burst into the house, Caleb crying and Elijah obviously furious.  They both began to spew incriminating evidence against the other.  From what I gathered they were both at fault but Caleb's action had caused retaliation by Elijah.  Elijah announced very emphatically that, "I am NEVER going to play with you outside again!!!!!", and he stormed off to his room.  Caleb was hurt and standing there naked and so I instructed him to get dressed.  As I prepared dinner the Holy Spirit brought to my attention the fact that Elijah was not going to forgive Caleb.  I quickly remember several scriptures:     25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. Psalm 125

1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. 2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. 3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. 4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. 5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.
