Day 4 of a 21 day fast Humbling yourself before your God
Daniel 10:11-13
11 And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling.
12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.
Fasting is an active was to humble yourself before the Lord.
What a great day for Daniel. Jesus appears to him and tells him that:
"for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words."
Know that when we choose to humble ourselves through prayer and fasting we get God's attention. He comes to us and He hears our words!!!!!!
The all powerful, all knowing, eternal ONE listens and responds to your voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Selah! (stop and think about that today)
That is all there is to say!
Father, I thank you and bless you for turning your ear and attention on us when we choose to humble ourselves through prayer and fasting. We are expecting major breakthrough in our lives and the lives of those around us during this time. Continue to pour out your grace upon us we ask so that we are able to walk out these days with resolve like Daniel did. We ask that the Spirit of the Lord would rest on us today and throughout this time in a tangible way, the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding and Knowledge and the Fear of the Lord in a profound way so that we can walk with integrity as Jesus did while on earth. We thank you for the opportunity to fast and become more like Jesus while we are here on earth. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus,
Amen!
